I'm happy with the TVs, although we're not (yet) using 4K mode. I need to either get an Intel NUC set up as a media center, or someone needs to cough up a Chromecast or Roku that does 4K.

In the end we borrowed a HDMI to VGA adaptor . I've now ordered it from Nextbuying.com . It does work fine for our purposes, but it's not exactly cheap ($7.99) and it forces Windows to switch off. It coped ok with videos surprisingly although perhaps it jittered a bit. So although not exactly ideal it worked fine for our purposes.
